#23 SciFi Countdown: 3rd Rock from the Sun

3rd Rock from the Sun was an awesome show. I don't think that I've seen successful another Science Fiction sitcom recently. How it got on NBC and became mainstream, I'll never know. I mean that in a good way. It's unbelievable that a show about aliens would survive 6 entire seasons! The actors were phenomenal. I didn't watch this one regularly but when I caught it, it was always a treat.

This show was about aliens, yes, but it was also about fitting in when you know that you are different. I think the show's premise was even though these folks were aliens, some things are universal. Too bad you can't really dress up like these guys at a convention.

John Lithgow was my favorite. The other actors were awesome but he was so over the top that he wasn't.

That show was great! I think one of the things that made it so cool is that there had never been anything like it on tv before. I can't even imagine how the writers pitched it to the network but, I'm glad NBC bought it.

I've always loved Jane Curtin, and I think her interaction with John Lithgow was one of the things that made the show work.

Good luck with the 'thon! I'll be back :)

My favorite character was Kirsten Johnson's character. She just made me laugh and laugh. But, Lithgow is always great. And, I agree with the commenter Anne about the interaction between Jane Curtin and him. I totally forget about this show as being sci-fi. Hmm...I might have to amend my favorite science fiction list. I can't wait to see what other shows you dig up for us as you're blogging away today!

Good luck again!

As I get closer to #1, the shows will be more obvious but it'll be fun! Thanks for the support Loren!
